KGEMBA Program

In a time when many ministries are shifting from a denominational to an independent model, an entrepreneurial mindset is more critical than ever for pastors and church leaders. With traditional institutional support often unavailable, ministry leaders need business acumen to build and grow financially sustainable ministries. The Kingdom Global Executive MBA (KGEMBA) is designed to meet this need, equipping you with the tools to take your vision “from Jerusalem to the uttermost parts of the world” (Acts 1:8).

Who is the KGEMBA for?

The KGEMBA is a specialized program for experienced ministry professionals with at least 5 years in a senior or executive role. This program is for working leaders who want to sharpen their strategic skills while continuing their ministry work.

The KGEMBA curriculum is laser-focused on leadership, strategic management, and the unique challenges of global ministry. The coursework was designed by Dr Dana Carson who holds three earned doctorates Degrees. He was also the first full-time clergy to graduate with a Global Executive MBA from the world-class Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

With over 40 years of global, executive leadership Dr. Carson designed this program to emphasize the real-world application of business principles in a ministry context.

Masters Degrees

  • Master in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M, 
  • Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary/Oral Roberts University, 
  • Master of Economic Development and Entrepreneurship from the University of Houston

Doctoral Degrees

  • Boston University in theological studies, specializing in church growth, 
  • Regent University in Organizational Leadership, and 
  • Logos University in Christian psychology.

A core component of the KGEMBA is its international exposure, including global immersions and networking with diverse leaders from different parts of the world. This is designed to help you take your ministry vision to a global scale. 

KGEMBA admissions are based on your significant professional experience. This creates a powerful high-level peer network of accomplished ministry leaders who are all facing similar entrepreneurial challenges. You’ll learn and collaborate with a cohort of your peers, creating a valuable community. 

The KGEMBA is structured for immediate application. We encourage you to bring real challenges from your ministry directly into the classroom for discussion and problem-solving. This focus on practical, hands-on learning helps you learn how to establish and grow a ministry that can generate and manage its own financial support. 

The KGEMBA is designed for ministry leaders seeking to advance within their organizations and expand their global influence. For church leaders embracing an entrepreneurial mindset, this program provides the tools to not just survive but thrive.

Course Schedule

To obtain a degree, a student must complete a total of 36 credit hours. These hours are divided into three main sections: a core curriculum, elective courses, and a capstone project.

Core Curriculum

A student must complete 27 credit hours from the following eight Business Administration Core courses.

  • BUSI 5003 – MBA PRINCIPLES
  • BUSI 5113 – MARKETING MANAGEMENT
  • BUSI 5213 – ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR
  • BUSI 5223 – ETHCS STEWARDSHIP & LEGAL ENV BUSINESS
  • BUSI 5133 – MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS
  • BUSI 5333 – GLOBAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
  • BUSI 5413 – RISK MANAGEMENT & DECISION MAKING
  • BUSI 5503 – ACCOUNTING & FINANCE FOR MANAGERS

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED COURSES

Capstone Project:

    • BUSI 5436 – BUSINESS STRATEGY & POLICY (CAPSTONE) or 
  • LEAD608 – Global Immersion & Capstone Experience: This option involves an international trip to Africa for hands-on engagement with various organizations and applying business principles to ministry and global leadership.

 

Elective Courses

The student must choose three elective courses from the KTS KGEMBA Elective Courses list, totaling 12 credit hours. The available courses are:

LEAD601

Church Growth & Leadership (3 Credit Hours)

Strategies for sustainable church expansion and discipleship models.
Leadership principles for building and managing thriving ministries.
Implementing scalable church administration systems.

Church Management as a 501(c)(3) and Personal Ministry (3 Credit Hours)

Understanding the legal and administrative responsibilities of churches operating as nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, including the unique distinctions between the church as a public charity and other ministry ventures. Best practices for governance, compliance, and accountability within structured ministry settings.
Exploration of how church leaders can effectively manage both the operations of the local church as a nonprofit entity while also launching and maintaining their own personal ministry or Kingdom-based venture alongside.
Practical applications of nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, and dual-role management for today’s Kingdom leaders.

Strategic Leadership & Emotional Intelligence (3 Credit Hours)


Developing vision, resilience, and self-awareness in leadership. Emotional intelligence as a tool for effective decision-making. Leading organizational and ministry transformation.

Personal Ministry: Planning a Church as a Business in the 21st Century – Kingdompreneur (3 Credit Hours)


Frameworks for launching and managing a church with entrepreneurial principles. Exploring bi-vocational leadership and sustainable financial models for ministry. Strategic planning and operational development for modern-day ministry ventures.

Kingdom Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation (3 Credit Hours)

Biblical principles of entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Business development, marketplace ministry, and financial stewardship.

  • Strategies for launching and sustaining Kingdom-driven enterprises.

AI for Ministry & Technology Integration (3 Credit Hours)

Utilizing artificial intelligence for church growth and operational efficiency. Digital transformation and technological advancements in ministry. Ethical considerations in AI and emerging technology for Kingdom impact.

Economic Development & Kingdom Wealth Strategies (3 Credit Hours)

Kingdom economics and principles of wealth-building. Community economic development and social impact strategies. Financial planning and sustainable stewardship for businesses and ministries.
