
Dr. Joseph Walker III holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern University, a Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has received honorary Doctorates from Meharry Medical College and Southern University. Dr. Walker is on the Board of Directors for Meharry Medical College and Citizens Savings Bank, and was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Tennessee State University in 2016. He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity. Dr. Walker serves as the International Presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship and succeeded Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. in 2013. In 1992, at the age of 24, he became pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church with 175 members. The ministry has since grown to over 30,000 members, with services in three locations and a global virtual church. He also oversees a weekly broadcast on BET, reaching over 25 million viewers worldwide.
